April 2019 saw one of our daughters get married, I like to be rather organised so some months prior I decided to look for that something special to wear on this special day, and find something special was an understatement – it was perfect thanks to Kevin Moore Design. From my first telephone call with Kevin to the post wedding communication Kevin has been totally amazing, his ability to mix the right design with the right colours with the right accessories for right person is second to none. To choose something from a rack was never going to work for me – my body was reducing in size so I needed to wait till as late as possible for my special outfit to be created and on cue just couple of weeks before the wedding I picked up what I thought was the most beautiful perfect Mother of the Bride outfit for me, this was backed up by the huge volume of amazing comments from wedding guests and acquaintances whom saw post wedding photos. Kevin’s wonderful service didn’t stop when I picked up my outfit – it continued after the wedding receiving the most beautiful text after he had seen a photo from the day and on top of all this it was Kevin who happily took my top back after the wedding to remove some little oil spots – it’s just perfect again! The mother of our daughter in law upheld the traditional wedding etiquette when selecting her Mother of the Bride outfit so that we did not clash with colours keeping the communication open until we were both sure what each would wear. I began with two trips to Wellington and one to Melbourne as the start of the Spring / Summer wear was entering the retail stores, but had no success. I wanted to feel elegant, formal and stylish. My daughter was to wear soft pink, the bridesmaid would be in navy and the Mother of the Bride in a silk of blues and oranges. Finally, weeks out from the wedding, I visited Kevin Moore Design, in Auckland. I arrived with thoughts of a coat and flowing dress. Three hours of fittings, trying outfits on, listening to Kevin's suggestions, Kevin listening to my ideas (such a patient man), we settled and the fitting measurements were taken. A long dress coat and fitting dress with colour choice was finalised. I left his showroom feeling unsure but, as our daughter commented, you have one son and you deserve to have an outfit that will make you feel special. No truer words spoken. Throughout the wedding and weeks that followed, I received amazing compliments. Kevin, you are amazing! The comment I will always remember from our son (the Groom), as I walked into the room wearing this design: "Mum you look stunning… you have nailed it". There's no denying that I felt great on our son's wedding day. Thank you Kevin, you truly are a great designer.

I wanted a Dress for my daughter’s wedding. I wanted it to be modern but fitting for my age of 69. I came across Kevin’s website and saw a dress I really liked. I was a bit worried it might be too young for me but Kevin assured me it wasn’t and if anything he said it will make me look younger because it is a classic dress and classic dresses can make you look younger also it will last for years. Living in Christchurch was no problem to Kevin, we just communicated by phone and texting, the dress was couriered to me over night. I found Kevin to have a great sense of humour, he certainly knows women’s fashion and how to make you feel good about yourself. I wouldn’t hesitate in using Kevin again.

I was to be the ‘Mother of the Groom'. I was taken in hand by friends who took me to every clothes shop in Newmarket and the Eastern suburbs. The dresses were too young, too casual, too short, too long… Finally a friend found an advert in the Herald for Kevin Moore. As a last ditch effort we turned up. He provided me with an honest assessment of what would suit and I was measured and styled accordingly. I received more than my share of compliments that day and was very pleased with the dress and jacket he made. The material was beautiful and it was stylish and chic. A year or so later I had my own wedding. I had traipsed around Melbourne, looked through magazines to outfit the "mature bride". I was after something that fitted with age and occasion. Again I returned to Kevin and the dress and jacket he made for me were just perfect! I could not recommend him more highly. If you want to be the belle of your ball see him. After months of fruitless and exhausting searching for an outfit, and with just seven weeks until the wedding of my one and only child, I stumbled across Kevin’s website and contacted him as a Mother of the Groom trying desperately to contain a growing sense of panic. I am eternally grateful to Kevin and his lovely family who are an integral part of Kevin Moore Design for ensuring this proud Mother of the Groom looked and felt elegant and stylish. Since my son’s wedding last month, I have worn my outfit to another formal occasion, and again, the compliments from friends continue to flow. My son’s wedding was held recently in Queenstown with the theme being “Ascot”, so of course we must dress in style, ladies elegantly including hats, and men with top hats and tails. Kevin is not only a great designer, he was also very helpful in offering different options to suit my figure (I am not a Rachel Hunter!), colours to suit me, and a range of hats, as well as other accessories. After reading Kevin’s advertisement in the Canvas magazine, I decided to take a trip south and pay him a visit, with a best friend accompanying me. I was looking for something special for my son’s upcoming wedding. I had been to a few of the Auckland speciality shops looking for an outfit and was becoming very disheartened with not being able to find anything that I really liked or fitted me well, even with being a standard size. Looking in the heat of summer was exhausting especially with some poorly air-conditioned fitting rooms. On arrival, Kevin was very welcoming to my girlfriend and myself and we immediately felt at ease. We loved browsing through his beautiful garments made in beautiful fabrics. With our subsequent visits he was friendly and down to earth and he has a great sense of humour. Kevin was very helpful, suggesting styles and colours that would suit my figure. He was very caring as I was somewhat sore with an arthritic flare- up on my initial visit. My beautiful silk dress and jacket made me feel a million dollars and fitted me perfectly. In particular the jacket. Having arthritic elbows, and arms that are not straight, Kevin ensured the jacket fitted beautifully around the elbows. Kevin even made a handkerchief for my husband’s jacket, with material from my outfit. I had so many comments that I looked amazing, and stunning. My daughter and husband saying how very beautiful I looked. My little grand-daughters saying I looked famous. Kevin, you are indeed very talented at making garments for so many of us that don’t fit into the standard size for whatever reason and making us feel beautiful. Thank you and I look forward to paying you a visit again sometime.
